If you want exposure to the stock market, but aren’t sure which stocks to select, an ETF can be the answer. Simply put, an ETF is a basket (or grouping) of stocks, bonds, commodities or other types of investments that trades on a stock exchange. You are effectively buying shares in the fund, the same as how you would buy individual stocks. However, because the fund includes many different stocks, you are diversifying your investment and your risk using a single investment.
